Dave and Harvest picked up our crew from our inn to guide us across the sands to complete our hike along St Cuthbert's Way.  They were game for an early morning departure and we saw the sun rise over the Holy Island.  We woke to a drizzle of rain but it all cleared up by the time we got to the sands.  While we walked (barefoot) across the sand we were serenaded by a colony of seals. Dave stopped several times  to share his knowledge about the history of the area. Harvest took quite a few photos.  They supplied us with walking sticks.  Our toes were cold but, the excitement of completing the week long hike and Dave and Harvest sharing their knowleldge and stories, we hardly noticed.   While Dave got a ride back to the mainland to get his car Harvest gave us a short tour around the island that ended with a coffee at Pilgrims Coffee.  Dave and Harvest drove us back to our inn.  We could have crossed the pilgrimage on our own but making this final trek with these 2 sweet guides really did make it all that much more special.  We would clearly hire them again. Had a wonderfully relaxing few days break in North Star Treehouse. It's got everything you need and in such a beautiful location. A warm welcome from the owners and some welcome goodies were much appreciated. Highly recommended - we will be back!

What a beautiful peaceful place. The cottages are a great size almost like a Tardis very deceiving from the outside. The  location may seem remote but the village 2 pubs and a shop are around 1.5 miles away berwick around 12 and wooler 8 so plenty of shops . The beds were the most comfortable ive slept in, the cottage was really warm and cosy. All mod cons . The host was amazing, there if needed, information pack very well put together, and around 10-15 minutes to holy island lindisfarne etc felt very relaxed at the end of the week. We had a wonderful stay in the treehouse at Laverock Law Cottages! Every detail of the treehouse was perfect and it had everything we needed as a family of 4. Our 2 sons (4 and 9) loved the swing and the selection of games. It was lovely to have a break from screens and WiFi and I was surprised by how much the boys enjoyed it (I was expecting a bit of protest!) The lemon drizzle cake was delicious and we enjoyed the bottle of local bitter left as a welcome gift. We picked up some local cheese in the shop in Wooler and they went very nicely together. Amazing place to stay. Rural, quiet, relaxing. Everything we wanted. Dog friendly as well. We had a busy week but really chilled. Dave and Harvest took us for a walk across to Holy Island. This was a fantastic experience. Boat trip to the Farne islands, Bamburgh Castle, Amble and the list goes on. Magnificent experience.

We had a lovely time in the treehouse. It was the perfect restful getaway. Especially if you like walking and wildlife. And if you can, do the bread making course that is available as it is so relaxing, and the skills you learn come home with you.
