About us

Our story

We discovered Laverock Law in 2011, and knew immediately that this was the place for us, a place where we could create our own family home and a unique and special holiday space where families, couples and groups of friends could come to relax, rewind and reconnect in its magic. A great location to explore the beauty of Northumberland’s coast, and its many attractions, Holy Island, Bamburgh Castle, the Farne Islands, Alnwick Castle and Gardens and  also a short distance from Wooler the ‘Gateway to the Cheviots’, and home of the Ad Gefrin Distillery.

Our motto at Laverock Law has always been ‘your holiday is as important to us as it is to you’ and we always work hard to make sure that you have the best of stays.

Meet your hosts at Laverock Law

Both Harvest and Dave are passionate about wildlife and the hills and coast of Northumberland and can help you with lots of ideas for adventures of all sizes.

Dave (Birch)

Dave has always had a passion for the mountains and adventure. He is a trained Mountain Leader and  involved with the local mountain rescue team.

During your stay he can take you on your own unique adventure, be this a Pilgrims crossing to Lindisfarne, sunset climb to a hill top or magic family adventure. Another of Dave’s passions is cooking, he runs breadmaking courses and will make fresh bread and extra cakes to order during your stay with us.

Harvest Rose

Harvest Rose will always greet you with a smile on her face. Harvest Rose grew up at a small organic mill, Little Salkeld, in the Eden Valley, Cumbria, her childhood holidays were spent either on Holy Island or with her Gran at Monks House near Bamburgh, her heart has always been here in Northumbria.

As well as all the hard work she does at Laverock she is also a felt artist, trained yoga teacher and Reiki Practioner. Why not take advantage of the opportunity during your stay to spent some time reconnecting with a relaxing yoga session, take time to rebalance with a reiki treatment or get creative with some felt making.

Sustainability

Sustainability is crucial to our success

Most of the work creating Laverock Law has been done by ourselves, we are all passionate about sustainability and wildlife and love the area where we live. Our ethical and sustainable ethos means you can enjoy fantastic holiday accommodation with minimal environmental impact. This is why in 2018 we won both local awards and also the national Visit England Excellence award for sustainable tourism, many awards have followed including Green Tourism Gold Accreditation.

This reflects both the quality of our cottages and also the many sustainable aspects which we have incorporated into their renovation and daily operation. The real testimony to this however are our guests who come back year after year.

A sustainable stay
