Woodpecker Cottage is a stunning transformation from a traditional farm workers cottage into a luxurious 3 bedroom holiday cottage. Woodpecker Cottage has been designed to give you the holiday that you deserve which features an open, spacious living area to enjoy. There are three bedrooms which are furnished with beautiful original pine  furniture . Woodpecker Cottage offers the perfect setting for families, couples and groups of friends to stay and can be booked with the adjacent Skylark cottage with which it shares a suntrap courtyard setting.

Laverock Law is a haven for peace , tranquillity and wildlife. You can begin your day looking out onto the nearby Kyloe hills, bathed in morning light whilst listening to a stunning chorus of birdsong.  The cottage provides the ideal base for exploration and adventure, with a variety of walks from the doorstep. Its location means it is perfectly positioned for the stunning Northumberland coastline, castles and countryside. As evening draws in, enjoy a glass of wine in front of a roaring wood burning stove; a starlit walk along the country lanes or take advantage of the opportunity to toast marshmallows round a campfire in the paddock, or sit on our tree platform and watch the sun go down.

Woodpecker cottage is a place where you will create memories:

• Watch and listen to the wildlife and beautiful birdsong either from the cottage window, your own cottage garden or whilst sitting among the trees on our unique tree platform.
• Enjoy the open living space we have created with its woodburning stove and comfy sofas along with a well equipped kitchen and dining area that overlooks the suntrap courtyard at the front.
• Indulge yourself relaxing in your roll top bath before stepping out onto a warm underfloor heated bathroom.
• Recharge your batteries whilst sleeping in beautiful bedrooms with organic bedding and luxurious down duvets

Living Room – space to relax, games to play, books to browse

The living room is a lovely, light room in which to relax and escape. See some of our amazing local birdlife visiting the feeders,  including great spotted woodpecker, tree sparrows and of course our comical hens through the garden window. Curl up on the cosy sofas in front of the roaring, wood burning stove and get lost in your favourite book, watch a DVD or play one of our selection of family games.

Kitchen/Dining Room – space to socialise, make delicious food and enjoy sharing meals together

Sit down together around the table overlooking the South facing courtyard. Taste some of the fantastic food that the area has to offer ( we will give you a few local treats upon arrival in our goodie basket). The kitchen is fully equipped to a high standard including a dishwasher and full laundry facilities, we are both great cooks ourselves and have tried to provide all that you will need.

Sleeping

Woodpecker Cottage  has three bedrooms and can sleep up to five people. All the rooms have cosy beds with organic percale cotton sheets and a warm down duvet – all the ingredients you need for a special night’s sleep.

Master bedroom – The master double bedroom has a handmade bed created from beautiful warm elm wood. It  has a large traditional sash window which creates a light spacious room rewarded with open views across our small paddock and woodland.

Single bedroom – A handcrafted bed from beautiful ash wood.

Double Bedroom- Double bed and simple pine furniture.

All the bedrooms have beautiful wooden flooring, original doors and pine furniture to create a welcoming atmosphere. A cot is available for the little ones in the family.

Keeping Clean

Woodpecker Cottage has a large bathroom with underfloor heating. Enjoy the luxury of a roll top bath, or the space of a walk in shower cubicle. Oodles of hot water are supplied by our biomass boiler and towels are provided. There is also a separate utility room with an additional toilet and hand basin, as well We pride ourselves on ensuring the cottage is clean and we use eco cleaning products throughout.

Outside

The cottage has its own  garden with a seating area, you are also welcome to have a campfire in the paddock. For children there is the opportunity play games in the croft, pretend to be knights in the castle on the tree platform, and ride on rusty red the Family Go-Kart.
