Responsible Visitor Charter
We hope that you enjoy your stay at Laverock Law and we have worked hard to ensure that your stay has as low an impact as possible on the environment and also at the same time helping to look after and enhance the surrounding area, we really hope that you engage with this during your stay, after all we are all sharing the same planet we call home.
Here are some suggestions to help make your stay as green as possible:
- We purchase our energy from a fully renewable supplier. Please can you help us by being careful and aware of about how much energy you use. Try to switch off lights and turn things off on standby.
- Be Water Wise – can you use less water? Maybe take a shower instead of a bath and turn the tap off whilst brushing teeth. Please also respect our septic tank and do not put sanitary wear, nappy liners or wet wipes down the toilet.
- Reduce, Reuse and Recycle! You can recycle card, plastic bottles, tins and glass at Laverock Law Cottages and you can also use the garden compost. Please be mindful of packaging when you make purchases and at the end of your stay avoid food waste by not binning the bananas!
- Shop local and support the local economy – you have a taste of what there is to offer in the area in your welcome pack. Try the delicious cheese and ice-cream from Doddington Diary, honey from Chainbridge Honey Farm, beer from Cheviot Brewery, fish from Swallow Fish or Craster Kippers, or even Whisky and Gin from Ad-Gefrin Distillery. There are numerous fantastic local shops so please support them.
- Please look after our countryside. There is a lot of wildlife around the Laverock area, hares, deer, barn-owls and buzzards are seen nearly every day. This is really important to us and you can help by keeping it as a haven for wildlife by taking litter home and following the Country Code.
