Swallow Cottage has a homely feel and provides flexible accommodation for up to five people. Situated at the end of a terrace of four, single-storey farm labourers’ cottages, Swallow Cottage has been renovated for ease and relaxation with an open, spacious living area to enjoy.  There are three bedrooms which are furnished with beautiful wooden furniture and designed to be flexible for your needs. You will find that Swallow Cottage offers the perfect setting for families, couples and groups of friends to stay.  It can be booked with the adjacent Skylark cottage. This special location is a haven for peace , tranquillity and wildlife. You can begin your day looking out onto the nearby Kyloe hills, bathed in morning sunlight whilst listening to a stunning chorus of birdsong.  The cottage provides the ideal base for exploration and adventure, with a variety of walks from the doorstep. Its location means it is perfectly positioned for the stunning Northumberland coastline, castles and countryside. As evening draws in, enjoy a glass of wine in front of a roaring wood burning stove; a starlit walk along the country lanes or take advantage of the opportunity to toast marshmallows round a campfire in the paddock.

Living Room – space to relax, games to play, books to browse

Swallow living room is a lovely, light room in which to relax and escape whilst sitting in front of the roaring, wood burning stove. Curl up on the cosy sofas and get lost in your favourite book, watch a DVD or play games. The open plan Kitchen/Dining Room gives space to socialise, make delicious food and enjoy sharing meals together around the traditional kitchen table, whilst spotting passing wildlife out of the windows.

Sleeping

Swallow has three bedrooms and can sleep up to five people. All the rooms have cosy beds with organic cotton sheets and a warm down duvet – all the ingredients you need for a special night’s sleep. A cot is available for the little ones in the family. The Master bedroom has a large traditional sash window which creates a light spacious room with sunny views across the countryside. It can be set up either as a large double or twin room.

Double bedroom: Comfortable room with fantastic views towards the Kyloe Hills, beautiful pine furniture with luxury organic cotton bedding.

Single room: Our favourite of all the bedrooms, Dave rescued this beautiful carved bedhead from an auction to create a bed fit for a King,  this is complimented by original pine doors  on a built in wardrobe  to create a really special bedroom.

Swallow Cottage has a large, warm bathroom with bath and separate shower cubicle. Oodles of hot water are supplied by our biomass boiler, towels are provided. We pride ourselves on ensuring the cottage is clean and we use eco cleaning products throughout.

Outside

The cottage has its own enclosed garden with a seating area, you are also welcome to have a campfire in the paddock, maybe toast some marshmallows or make bread sticks. There is also a tree platform in the paddock area for all to enjoy, during the day a place for play or picnics, at night a place to sit and watch the sun go down or the brilliance of stars in the night sky.

For children there is space to play traditional ball games in the croft, ride on rusty red the go Kart or swing on the rope swing.
