A beautifully handcrafted Shepherds Hut made from local timbers and located in open woodland with stunning views of the Cheviot hills. The ‘Harvest Hut’ is the perfect quiet, cosy and romantic retreat.Wake up to nature surrounded by abundant birdsong, throw open the stable door and breathe in Northumberland. Start the day with breakfast made in the fully equipped kitchen, setting you up for the day exploring Northumberland’s hills, castles and coast.
In the evening cosy up in front of the woodburning stove, enjoy a campfire outside or simply lie in bed and watch the sunset over Cheviot and the enormous dark skies above you fill with a myriad of stars and the soft glow of the milky way.
Equipped for luxury the shepherds hut contains all you need for your stay, including down duvets and organic cotton bedding, and of course a lovely homemade cake on arrival. Cosy and warm, there is a lovely woodburning stove, handcrafted furniture and lots of nostalgia. The hut has a full size double bed, seating, outside table and chairs and equipped kitchenette. To maximise space in the shepherds hut we have created a bathroom with the luxury of underfloor heating in our barn just a short walk from your door.
Harvests hut was originally a threshers ‘caravan’ towed around the Rothbury area behind steam powered threshing engines and provided the accommodation for the workers when they were away from home. Left abandoned in a field it was lovingly restored using local timbers by Jeremy Davies who worked at nearby Brackenside Farm. We acquired the hut in Early January 2015 and have crafted and created the interior to combine luxury with tradition, to create a very special and homely living space which you will love and enjoy. ( we have also included a few more modern gadgets that the previous occupants would never had known about such as an I pod docking station).

Holly- February 2024" Where do I start. Amazing from start to finish. Gorgeous location. Extremely helpful and friendly host. We enjoyed the log fire and a glass of red with some food in the hut on the Friday. Saturday we borrowed from a choice of bikes- 12 mile bike ride pint along the way exquisite views and plenty of animals to admire. Saturday evening played a little music and danced outside our hut to candle light then snuggled up in the very comfy four poster bed to sound of rain with a glow from the log fire. So romantic. So perfect. Unfortunately our car broke down and we had to be towed home so meant we had to check out later- the host was more than accommodating and made us feel safe and secure. Would recommend highly. MAGICAL EXPERIENCE♥️
